Event Date
Exploring Bias: A Campus Dialogue
Tuesday, February 26, 2019
Student Community Center, Meeting Room D
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
We all have personal biases – inclinations for or against individuals or groups that block impartial judgment. Based in normal cognitive shortcuts, biases can affect our actions, our thinking, and our decision-making, often with significant consequences.
Join members of our campus community in dialogue as we explore our personal biases, examine where they arise, and share experiences of disrupting - or trying to disrupt - biases.
The dialogue will be facilitated by trained moderators and participants are asked to attend the entire program from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
The dialogue is likely to be full. Doors will open and refreshments will be available starting at 10:45 am. Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the dialogue begins, we will be unable to admit new participants. Doors will close at 11:10 am.
Co-hosted by Campus Dialogue & Deliberation, Office of Campus Community Relations, and Sustained Dialogue at UC Davis.
